Narrative
Very little information is available regarding the life of Mary Reeves Allen. There are deed records in Wake County NC that relate to her husband Bartlett Allen but the only mention of Mary, is in the probate records of her father, William Reeves. There is a Power of Attorney from Bartlett and Mary Allen to Jesse B. Geer (nephew of Mary Reeves Allen) to act on their behalf in the settlement of William Reeves' estate recorded in Madison County, Kentucky Deed Book P, Pg 211. Subsequent to this POA, Jesse B. Geer executed the deed "Reeves Heirs to Reeves" on their behalf wherein all of William Reeves' children sell their interests in his land to his youngest child, Jeremiah. That deed is recorded in Madison County in Deed Book Q, pgs 7, 8, 9.Presumed child of Mary Reeves and Benjamin Downs -

At present, no definitive documentation has been found as to the identity of the children of Mary Reeves;; however, the children listed above are based upon extensive research of the Allen families of Wake County in marriage, deed and other extant records. These children based upon research of the Downs and Allen families of Wake County when compared against the ages and sexes of the children of Mary Reeves as listed on the 1800 U.S. Federal Census for Wake County with descendants of several of them verified based upon DNA results and additional documentation for their descendants.Sources
