Research Notes

The Family Bible states that S. Y. Allen and Mary Jane Reaves were married 29 Feb 1865. Georgia marriages also report the marriage of M. J. Reeves to Solomon Young Allen (1842-1927) on 20 February 1865 in Pike Co., GA. Solomon moved to Louisiana and later to Texas, where he is buried in Panola County. Solomon's wife Mary Reeves seems to have died young, for he married second to Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford.
