Milton Reeves received a grant for 80 acres in Posey County, Indiana from the US General Land Office on 1 Jun 1831. On 5 Sep 1835, he received another grant for 40 acres.

Posey County Probate records reveal that Richard Reeves gained administration on Milton's estate on 2 Nov 1850. The file lists minor heirs William A., Sarah Ellen, Martha M., John, and James H.

Research Notes

There is currently nothing to document the relationship between William Reeves, Sr. and Milton Reeves other than proximity. There were only a few Reeves' individuals in Posey County, Indiana during the years 1820 to 1850 and they appear to all be part of the family of William Reeves, Sr.. Additionally Milton lists his birthplace as Kentucky in census records which is where William Reeves Sr. and his wife, Elleanor Wiggins Reeves were married and lived prior to moving into Indiana.

Previous research had suggested he moved to Henry County, Indiana based on tax and Civil War records. These however, probably all pertain to Milton Monroe Reeves.
