In Hickman County, Kentucky on 9 Dec 1861, Jasper Newton Reeves enlisted in Co. A, 48th Regiment of Tennessee Infantry of the Confederacy. According to CSA records, he mustered out on 1 Apr 1862 in Corinth, Mississippi but the record gives no indication of his condition at that time.

On the 26th of June 1865, Newton's widow filed
