DEATH SATURDAY OF MRS. REBECCA ROCK, A SPLENDID LADY
Mrs. Rebecca Reeves Rock, age 79 years, one of Greenfield's splendid ladies, died Saturday morning at 5:15 o'clock at her home on East North street following a long illness which was the result of a fall she suffered some time ago.
Mrs. Rock, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neville Reeves of Brown township, had lived in this county all her life. She was the widow of the late Wm. H. H. Rock, a Civil War veteran, business man and representative in the state legislature one term. They were married on January 20, 1874, and resided at Charlottesville, where Mr. Rock was in business until about thirty years ago, when they removed to Greenfield, where Mrs. Rock has resided since. Mrs. Rock was a charter member of the Charlottesville Christian church, moving her membership to the local church after taking up her residence here. She was an active member and worked in all the ladies organizations of the church, and also took an active part in the Woman's Relief Corps.
Mrs. Rock was the mother of six children, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. William Leamon, E. P. Rock, Guy D. Rock, Mrs. Zula Pierce, Carl Rock and Mrs. Omer Jackson.
The funeral service was held at her late home Monday morning in charge of Rev. Hosier, pastor of the Christian church and was private. The interment was in Park cemetery. Pasco Brothers, funeral directors, in charge."
