Children of Richard Reeves and Margaret Ore:
  1. Jane Reeves, b. 21 Nov 1791, m. Aquila Stillings on 28 Aug 1812 in Baltimore, Maryland
  2. Sarah Ann Reeves, d. infancy

Richard first bought land in Baltimore County in 1793 from John Cole. He then sold the same land to Benjamin Hide in 1796.

The following appeared in the Federal Intelligencer on 18 Aug 1795:
NOTICE
This is to forewarn any person or persons not to harbor or trust my wife MARGARET REEVES, on any account whatever, as I am determined to pay no debts of her contracting, from the date hereof.
RICHARD REEVES.
August 10, 1795.


Jane's birth is recorded in the St. Paul's Parish Register.

Jane Stallings, child of Richard Reeves, dcd., placed a pension claim for Richard Reeves from Baltimore Maryland, listed as the minor of Richard who was an an armorer on the U.S.S. "L'Insurgente" which was lost at sea in 1800.

In a letter from 1838, she explained:
My Father Richard Reeves late of the city of Baltimore, decd was an Armorer on board the United States Ship L'Insurgente on her last cruise in the year 1800 - and was lost in her. He left a widow and two children - one of the children died in infancy and the widow died many years ago, leaving me the only child and heir: I was born November 21st 1791: And now Respectfully apply for the half pay of my Father from the time of his death on board said United States Ship L'Insurgente untill I arived at the age of twenty one years according to the provisions of the Act of Congress passed March 3 1837 entitled "an Act for the more equitable administration of the Navy fund"

A deposition included in the record dated 1838 from an acquaintance, Elizabeth Hooper, age 56, stated that: "The said Richard and Margaret Reeves had only two children, both daughters - viz Jane, and Sarah Ann: that the said Sarah Ann died in childhood, in the lifetime of her said Father; and that the said Jane is now a resident of the city of Baltimore aforesaid and the wife of Aquilla Stallings."
