On 9 Sep 1828 in Carroll County, Tennessee, Robert Rieves (sic) was appointed guardian to Eleanor D. Rieves, Mary R. Reaves, and Benjamin C Reaves minors.

The four children above are named in the York County SC Probate Records of the Estate of David Roddey, Case Nbr. 45, File #1905 and again in the court records of Carroll County, Tennessee.

There was a George Reeves present along with Robert Reeves at the estate sale of David Roddey who has been theorized by some to be the father of Robert Reeves but there is currently no documentation of that family connection.

Robert "Reaves" and family are listed in the 1830 Census in Carroll County, Tennessee where his age is listed as 40-49 years of age.

Research Notes

An original signature on a document in David Roddey's York SC estate file records that Robert Reeves' name was actually Robert Rives.
