Sarah Caroline Reeves married Dr. James Peyton Gwyn, who was born 27 July 1847 and died 27 May 1904. He is buried in High Shoals U.M.C. Cemetery in Walton Co., GA. The marriage date is recorded in the Family Bible as 17 Nov 1875.

James P. Gwyn was taxed in GMD 581, Pike Co., GA, about 1878, when he paid poll tax only. He and Sallie were enumerated in Zebulon, Pike Co., GA, in 1880. They were shown with three-year-old daughter Blanche M. and Gwyn's mother and sister. He and wife Sallie C. Gwyn were enumerated in Richard, Walton Co., GA, in 1900, along with three children. They had been married for twenty-five years, and three of the four children then born to them were living. Sarah and three of her daughters are buried in Old Danielsville Presbyterian Cemetery, Madison Co., GA. Her tombstone gives her name as "Sarah Caroline Reaves, wife of James Peyton Gwyn."
