Narrative

Sarah Elizabeth Reeves married John R. Sykes on 28 May 1885. She was unmarried and living with her brother Elijah in 1880. She was living with Elijah in 1910, too, when she was shown as a widow but listed under the Reeves name. Sarah's husband John was a widower when she married him, and the couple had no offspring together.

Sarah lived with her brother Elijah during her final years and afterwards with her nieces and nephews. She died in 1923. Her obituary stated that she was the last surviving child out of a family of thirteen.
