From the age of Elizabeth Reeves Goodrick as estimated in census, Thomas Reeves was undoubtably married prior to his 1777 marriage to Mary Scoggin Oakley.

He was listed on the 1776 census taken by Jno Vincent in lower William and Mary Parish, Charles County, Maryland. In the census of 1790, Thomas Reeves is recorded with 1 Male under 16, 1 Male over 16, 4 Females and 9 Slaves.

Research Notes:

Previously another Thomas Reeves was believed to be the son of Thomas Reeves and Lydia Clark; however, the recently discovered probate of the estate of Joseph Padgett from Charles County Orphan's Court Proceedings 1812-1814, Pages 260-264, names the above children of Thomas Reeves of that family. This indicates that the Thomas Reeves with wife Mary Murphey who was previously believed to be the son of Thomas Reeves & Lydia Clark was more likely the child of Ubgate Reeves' brother William.
