Narrative

"About the year 1794, a number of Episcopal families removed from Maryland to the western part of Rowan, among them two families of Barbers, and other families by the names of Gardner, Chunn, Harrison, Alexander, Lightell, Mills, Swan, Reeves, Burroughs, etc.¹

The last wife of Michael Braun of the ''Stone House" was Mrs. Eleanora Reeves. Mrs. Reeves was a Maryland lady, named Wakefield, and was first married to William Reeves, when quite young, by whom she had four children – Thomas, Samuel, Sally, and Nancy.¹

This is probably the Thomas Reeves (born 1790 in Maryland) with wife, Elizabeth (born circa 1792 in North Carolina), who was recorded in Putnam County, Georgia census from 1820 through 1870.

It does not appear that Thomas and Elizabeth Reeves of Putnam County, Georgia had any children. In none of the census where they appear are there children listed in the home other than in 1820 but most are too old to be children of the Thomas Reeves.

In 1836, Thomas Reeves of Putnam County, sold some land in Cherokee County to Edward F. Mahone, also of Putnam County. It's unclear where he got his land from.
