THOMAS JEFFERSON REEVES
Thomas Jefferson Reeves, son of Barzilla and Roda Reeves, was born February 10, (sic) 1780, in Fremont County, Iowa. He came to Nebraska in 1911, and spent the remainder of his life in Otoe and Sheridan counties.
February 21, 1908, he married Bessie May Thompson. To this union were born seven children.
As a young man. Mr Reeves united with the Methodist Church in Iowa, and his membership was never moved from the home Church.
He had been in failing health for the past few years, and under the Doctor’s constant care for the past two weeks.
He passed away, August 28, 1953, at the age of 73 years. 6 months, 18 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. In his passing, he leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Henry Taylor, and Mrs. Harold Taylor, of Hay Springs; five sons; George, Marshall, Richard, Robert, of Hay Springs, and Orval, of Alliance, Nebr., one brother; fifteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist, Church, Hay Springs, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Harold Dodson officiating. Burial was made in the Hay Springs cemetery.
