William and Ann's family were living in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1841. Rothwell is just outside of Leeds. The census states that Ann was born in Yorkshire, but not William. William's obituary states he was born in Sussex. There is a John Reeves, age 45, in the household in 1841 with his family who may be a brother.

Ann appears to have died between 1850 and 1860.

William was living with William Jr. in 1870.

Died in the town of Waldwick, on Friday April 2d, Mr. William Reeves Sr., aged 83 years. Mr. Reeves was born in Sussex, England, in 1797. He came to Wisconsin over thirty years ago. The deceased was highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral took place from Trinity Church this city on Sunday last.
