First Presbyterian of Panther Valley Church records from Summit Hill, Carbon County, Pennsylvania state that William Reeves, son of Archibald and Jane Reeves, was born 23 Apr 1881 and was baptized 8 Sep 1881.

Veteran Admin Index states he was a resident of Lansford, Pennsylvania and was born 22 Jun 1881, which is an incorrect date. His Veteran card file states his father was James Reeves.

Archie Reeves, a retired mine superintendent, is in receipt of a telegram from the War Department announcing the death of his son, William Reeves, in action on October 3. Mr. Reeves was born on April 23, 1881. He followed the occupation of blacksmith in the Lansford shops of the Lehigh Coal & Navigation Co., and enlisted in Company I, 6th Infantry. He is survived by his wife one child, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Reeves, and the following brothers and sisters: Archie, John, Thomas, James, Mrs. W. B. Crowe, Mrs. J. Anderson and Mrs. C. Manning.
