William Reeves is the fifth known child of William REEVES and his wife Hannah (nee COOK). He was baptised in April 1834 at the Parish Church of St James, Ludgershall, Wiltshire.On the 1841 census taken on 6 June, William appears in his parent's home on Deweys Lane,Ludgershall, Wiltshire. He is seven years old and was born in county (that is to say in Wiltshire)
At the time of the 1851 census, on 30 March, William again appears in the household of his parents William and Hannah in Ludgershall, Wiltshire with three older and three younger siblings. He is 17 years, was born at Ludgershall. There is no occupation noted for him.

By the time of the 1861 census William, with his wife Sarah and their first child Harry, is living in rooms over the stables of a Green Grocers at St Georges Place off Back of the Walls in the Holy Rood Parish of Southampton. He is 27 years old, claims birth in Ludgershall, Wiltshire and is working as a Grocer's Porter.
On the 1871 census, Sarah Reeves, along with her surviving sons Harry and Alfred E, is living in a cottage on Back of the Walls, Southampton. She is described as the Head of Household and is a Widow.
It is highly probably William's is the death noted by FreeBMD during the first quarter of 1867 in Southampton Registration District. He was 32 years old.
