The first marriage of Charles and all the children except Fanny are recorded in the Howell Reevs Family Bible.

Charles and his family apparently switched from using Reeves to Reevs as their surname. All his children appear to have used the shorter Reevs. Charles write a lengthy will which mentions his wife Catherine J. and "my four children Louisa Hetzel, Floyd H. Reevs, Coe L. Reevs, and Ella Reevs." In reference to his present wife Catherine, he also refers to " her daughter Fanny." It would appear this was his only child by the second wife.

The current large headstone for Charles W. and Azubah appears to have been placed much later. According to this, the first wife Azubah died in 1853.
