Narrative

Screven Co GA Deed Book A p 619:
24 Mar 1800 Samuel Palmer and his wife Blanchia, for $214, sell 575 acres in Screven Co GA, formerly Effingham Co GA, to Ebenezer Hardin. Adjoining: McQueen, Brunson, Hanglathers, Selia Blare, H. Joice, Bryan, Humphrey and Margaret Conyers. Witnesses: John Reeves, Richard Reeves.
When this deed was produced in court to be recorded circa April 1809, Thomas Reeves made the following statement regarding his brothers who had witnessed the deed:
"Thomas Reeves, planter of Screven Co GA, being duly sworn, maketh oath that he is well acquainted with the hand writing of his two deceased brothers John and Richard Reeves, whose names are subscribed as witnesses to the within deed...and does verily believe the subscription...is in the proper hand writing of those persons respectively."

Screven Co GA Deed Book A p 618:
6 Aug 1800 John Gross and his wife Rhoda sell, for $140, to Ebenzer Harding 100 acres in Screven County, formerly Effingham Co GA, adjoining Moodie(?) and vacant land when surveyed. Witnesses: Richard Rives, Tiny(?) McKinney,
Solomon Gross. Recorded 15 Apr 1809.

Screven Co GA Deed Book A p 621:
27 Sep 1801 John Conyers Sr (also signing Sarah Conyers), as administrator and heir of William Conyers, deceased, grants to Ebenezer Harding, for $150, 150 acres on Brier Creek. Witnesses: William Scott, Richard Reeves Jr. Recorded 17 Apr 1809.
