While the day and month of his birth is consistently given as 14 May, there is conflicting information as to whether Thomas was born in 1906 or 1907. His WW2 Draft Registration card indicates 1907.

Thomas N Riner and Nell Reaves were married on 11th April 1926 by the Rev John Rickman at the bride's home (in Colbert County, Alabama), the license having been issued the previous day.
