GEORGE RIVES PASSES AWAY
George Judson Rives, a former Columbian and a descendant of Timothy Rives, one of the founders of the capital city, died Monday in Greenville after an illness of three months, relatives in Columbia have been informed. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Rives had been in the fire insurance business in Greenville for 40 years. He lived in Columbia at one time, and also in Alabama, his native state.
Relatives who survive in Columbia are two nephews, Ernest and Marion Platt; a niece, Mrs. H. H. Oliver, and a cousin, Mrs. W. P. Houseal.
