Richard Eaton Rives, born about 1789, resided in Pitt county, North Carolina, where he died soon after the War Between the States. Like his father and grandfather before him, he was evidently a man of wealth and influence in his community. By his marriage to Mrs. Clara Elizabeth (Brown) Daniel.
Although Reliqes states he was born about 1789, the census indicates the dates given above.
