Narrative
According to Reliques of the Ryves, Robert "served as third corporal in the Lynchburg Rifles, which formed a part of the 4th Va. Regt., from July 31 to Aug. 29, 1814, in the War of 1812. "There was indeed a Robert Rives who served in the 4th VA Regt. as corporal and sergeant.
While the author of Reliques was unable to trace this individual, this might be the "R R Reeves" who shows up in Autauga County, Alabama on the 1830 census. He is listed on the same page as Robert Rivers Rives's brother George Rives who also moved to Autauga County. More research is needed to identify if this was indeed Robert living there.
