Edwin S. Rives Dies in Greenwood
Will Be Buried in Aiken This Afternoon
Greenwood, S. C., Aug. 21. - Edwin S. Rives, 60, died in a Columbia hospital this afternoon after illness of a year from paralysis. Funeral services will be conducted at Bethlehem cemetery at Aiken tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock by his pastor, Rev. Walter Lee Coker, of South Main Street Baptist church, Greenwood.
Mr. Rives for a number of years was in the mercantile business at Aiken and Edgefield with his brother under the firm name of Rives Brothers. He also was in business at Greenville before removing to Greenwood several years ago.
Surviving are his widow, who was Miss Lois Cain, of Sumter, and two daughters, Misses Lois and Ruth, of Greenwood, and two children by a former marriage, Mrs. James Brice, of Easley, and E. S. Rives, Jr., of Washington D. C. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. O R. Meyer, Tampa, Fla.
