The Alumni Oxoniensis has the following to say about George:
Ryves, George, cler. fil. New Coll., subscribed 7 Nov., 1655, B.A. 1659, MA. 1664, rector of Great Birch, Essex, 1666. See Foster's Index Eccl.
There is a probate document filed in the Consistory Court of London from September 1678 which show that Richard Hewson was commissioned to make an inventory of the estate of George Ryves late of Birch Magna.

He was elected to Winchester College at the age of 12 and was admitted in 1649 as "of Tarrant Gunville, Dorset," Kirby recording him further as "Scholar New College, M. A., Fellow 1657-63. Son of John Ryves." Foster gives his record, "cler. fil. New College, subscribed 7 Nov. 1655; B. A., 1659; M. A., 1664; rector of Great Birch, Essex, 1666. See Foster's Index Eccl."
