From Reliques of the Rives:
Died leaving apparently only female issue. He was one of the two members of the Ryves family to enroll at Cambridge University. Venn, Alumni Cantabrigienses, has the following mention of him, "Adm. pensioner at Queen's May 2, 1662; of Dorset, B. A., 1664-5. Doubtless son of John, Archdeacon of Berks (1634-65) ; matric. Christ Church, Oxford, Oct. 26, 1660, 'archidiaconi fil' (archdeacon's son). Ordained deacon and priest, Peterborough, March 3, 1666-7. Rector of Hallaton, north mediety, Leicester, 1671; living 1688." In 1695 letters of administration were granted to Elizabeth Rives, "daughter of Richard Rives, clerk, lately rector of the parish church of Hollough, co. Leicester." (Admn. Act Book, 1695, fol. 151).
Research Notes
There was an Elizabeth Rives who married a William Boss in Leicester 16 Jun 1697. More research is needed to see if she may have been the same as Elizabeth, daughter of Richard.Sources
