Wiki Stats - End March 2011
A quick glance at the March numbers paints an entirely false impressions. The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 March 2011) has grown to 2661 (previously 2644, 2573, 2439), an increase of just 17 pages. Of these 935 pages (was 928, 900, 859) begin with the letter R and are probably related to a R*v*s individual and 305 pages (282, 259, 244) begin with a number, so are probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 1205 wiki pages categorised as "People" of which 895 begin with the letter R.But this does not tell the full story....
As part of the count down to launch, a number of ZZZ pages have been deleted and many, many more have been updated.
Counting Down to Launch
Whilst we may have only added 30 new pages last month, the rate of preparation has quickened. All community members should have received an e-mail from me on 23 Match advising the community's decision to allow Wiki Pages to be accessible to non-members. On 25 March the site's mast head changed and a new home page was established. If you missed the News article published on 25 March, you may want to read it now.Since then many other small, but none the less important, changes have occurred. Everybody with an existing AboutMe page has been contacted personally and asked to review their page in light of the fact it will shortly become publicly accessible. My thanks to those who have already responded.
Aside from the technical changes, there are also some steps we needed to take in final preparation for the community expanding. I'm grateful to Richard for his efforts in drafting the content for two significant pages, the guidance on Documenting Sources and the Standards of Quality we aspire for in TRP and Terms and Conditions for participating in TRP.
