TRP Software Upgrade

As noted on the monthly news story over the past three months, we've been working towards upgrading the platform underpinning TRP and also the version of the wiki software which we use.

We are hoping to make that change over this weekend (5 and 6 January) and in preparation, we'll be switching the live site into read only mode with effect from about 19h00GMT/14h00EST on Friday 4 January.

You'll be able to log in and review all our existing content but (if I find the right buttons and knobs) you won't be able to make any changes until we're finished with the migration. Just in case I don't manage to lock everything down, please simply resist making changes; anything you do change won't get reflected on the new copy of the system.

Part of the change involves updating the internet's domain naming service, DNS, to point to our new server. Whilst this change is propagating globally, your browser may report it can't find The Reeves Project. Don't panic, grab a cup of tea and try again in an hour or so.

TRP Software Upgrade Completed

Further to yesterday's news item we are pleased to be able to report that the transfer to our new host and the upgrade of the underlying wiki software went very smoothly and thanks to the efforts of our colleagues is now complete.

TRP is out of Read Only mode and ready for you to add new pages for your ancestors.
