Wiki Stats - End June 2024
The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 July 2024) now stands at 14418 (previously 14306, 14207, 14176), a increase of 112 pages during this month. Of the total, 2931 pages (was 2900, 2871, 2862) begin with a number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 6462 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 5940 begin with the letter "R".Community members should log in to see more.
TRP Users
During June we have received two new enquiries about membership of TRP. We ended the month with 566 user accounts registered in TRP, an increase of one over the previous month. We had one users successfully activated their account during the past month and we welcome to TRP's community Carol from New Zealand.If you are having issues activating your account or have simply lost interest, please do let us know. Please contact New User Admin by sending an email to TRP123 (at) TheReevesProject (dot) org if you're stuck and need help or have subsequently decided you don't want to join our community. If you are not yet a member and would like to contribute to our community, please see our About Us page to find out a little more about TRP and then please complete our Join Us form to start the membership enrolment process.
Whether you joined TRP recently or a while ago, if you have yet to do so, please set a meaningful name for yourself as described in First Steps - Part 1. It isn't difficult and only takes a couple of minutes to do. If it helps, think of it as a (small) name label badge; so your first name plus the surname by which you are presently known (or at least the surname initial) would generally be a good choice. You'll find links to the remainder of the our six part First Steps as part of the FAQ - First Steps. Those same First Steps are also a great refresher for anybody returning to The Reeves Project after a period away.
Reeves DNA Project Update - 2q2024
We had just one new member joining the Reeves DNA Project at FtDNA during the second quarter of 2024 and the total current membership is now 454 (as of 30 June 2024).So its been a very quiet quarter, but we are please to welcome Sunny who joined the project during April.
There are no Y-DNA test results for new members to share this quarter.
Those who attentively follow this quarterly update may be surprised by the lack of new Y-DNA results, as last quarter we indicated that "... there is one additional set of results for a new member currently being processed by FtDNA." We had received a DNA Donor consent related to this kit late in March, but what I hadn't realised at the time was that the order had only just been placed. The DNA sample was received by FtDNA in early June and the at-DNA results for this kit have just been published. The Y-DNA results however are still pending. At the end of June 2024 FtDNA are indicating that the processing time for a Family Finder is 3-4 weeks and for a Y-DNA test (excluding Big Y) is 3-6 weeks. See the FtDNA page "Test Results Processing Time" in their "Help Center" for current information. We are aware of another recent new Y-DNA test order by an existing project member.
As ever, we would encourage all new Y-DNA donors or their representatives to make contact and allow us to identify them within TRP.
Although we've seen only one new member join our project in the past quarter, there has been a steady stream of match notifications for existing members of our project, including 22 notifications of Y-37 matches and 11 Family Finder (at-DNA) match notifications.
During the past quarter we've seen no notifications for existing project members receiving new Big-Y results. There has been one new result for an existing project member's Family Finder test results and none from a new mt-DNA donor during the past quarter.
