In the name of god...the first daye of...in the yeare of our L....1558 I Jhon Ryve...dwellinge in Bransb...embrace....be imortall and I being?...in bodie and yet of prfict memory do make this my last testament in manr and f... flowinge first I bequeath my sowle to allmightie god to the blessed virgin Marie and to all the hoolie companie of heven. Itm I bequeath to my sonne William xxti lib. to be paied unto him at the age of xxiti yeres. And if it chance Robert to die before Willia, or Willia before Robert under the age of xxiti yeres, then my will is the longest lyvd to have the shers portion and legacye.
Furthermore I bequeath to my dawghter Margery Rive xxti lib and a cowe to be delivered at her marriage xti in money and xti in cattell. also to the same I bequeath x ewes.
