Transcript

In the Name of God Amen. The ninth day of June in the yere of our Lord God One Thousand Sux Hundred Fiftie & Seaven. I Thomas Reeve of High Easter in the Countie of Essex yeoman being weake in bodie but of good & perfect memorie (thanks be given therefore unto God) doe make divise ordaine & declare this my present last will & Testament in manner forme hereafter following That is to say
First of right I give and bequeath my soule into the mercifull hands of Allmightie God my Saviour & Redeemer in Jesus Christ hopeing by the death & meritts of Christ to be saved eternallie. And my bodie I commit to ye earth from whence it came to be buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named
Item I revoke and renounce all former wills heretofore by me made
Item I give and bequeath all that customarie messuage or tenement called Harvies And all the outhouses buildings yard Orchards & Gardens, lands, meadows, & pastures thereunto belonging or appertayning. And all other my customarie landes whiatsoever holden of the mannor of High Easter Burie? in High Easter aforesaid with all and singular their apptnances unto Thomas Reeve my sonne and to his heires & Assignes forever. But if the said Thomas Reeve my sonne shall happen to die & depart this life before he shall accomplish his full age of one & twentie yeares or without heire or heires of his bodie lawfullie to be begotten, then my mind and will is and I do hereby devise give and bequeath all my foresaid messuage or tenement buildinglands with all & singular their apptnances unto Thomas Reeves sonne of my brother Isaac Reeve and to his heires & assignes forever And my minde and will also is that if the aforesaid messuage and lands shall so descend & come unto the said Thomas Reeve sonne of my said brother Isaack Reeve therethen he the said Thomas Reeve sonne of the said Isaack his heirs executors Administrator or assigns shall well & trulie pay or cause to be paid out of the foresaid lands unto Isaack Reeve & John Reeve his brothers their executors or assignes the full summe of twenty pounds a peece to either of them of lawfull monie of England within two yeres next as for the said Messuage & lands shall happen or to descend & come unto him as aforesaid. And if the said Thomas Reeve sonne of the said Isaac Reeve or his heires shall make default in payment of ye said summe of twentie pounds apeece unto the said Isaack Reeve and John Reeve his brothers their executors or assiges within the tyme aforesaid contrarie to the true meaning of this my will Then my will & mind is that the said Isaack Reeve & John Reeve sonnes of my Brother Isaack Reeve their heires executors or assignes shall enter in and uppon all my foresaid messuage and lands and the lands shall have & enjoy to them & to their heires forever.
Item I give and bequeath all my moveable goods & Chattles corne cattle household stuff & moveables whatsoever unto the said Thomas Reeve my sonne and I do make ordain the said Thomas Reeve my sonne and my brother in Law Benjamin Rolf full & whole executors of this my Last will and Testament. And I desire my welbeloved brother in law Daniel Rolfe to be overseer of this my Last will & Testament so be it trulie & faithfullie performed.
In witnes whereof I the said Thomas Reeve the testator to this my present Last Will & Testament have set my hand & seale the daie yere first above written. The marke of Thomas Reeve the testator. Sealed & acknowledged by the said Thomas Reeve the testator & by him published as his Last Will & Testament in the presence of the mk of John Spark alias Peter, the mk of John Choppin and Philom. Brewer.

This will was proved at London the twentie seaventh daie of Novembr One Thousand Six Hundred Fiftie Seaven Before the judges for probate of willes & granting Administration lawfullie authorized By the oath of Benjamin Rolfe the Brother in Law of the deceased & one of his executors named in the said will to hom Administration of all and singular the goods chattles and debts of the said deceased was grannted his being first sworne trulie to Administer the same. Power being nevertheless reserved to Thomas Reeve the sonne & other executor to mak like Probat & take like Administration when he shall legallie require the same.
