Transcript

In the name of God Amen the thirtieth day of November in the yeare of our Lord One thousand sixe hundred & eightie I John Reeve of Willingale Doe in the countie of Essex yeoman being in Reasonable good health and of perfect mind & memory Blessed be the name of Lord yet not knowing how suddenly the Lord may take me out of this transitory life doe therefore ordeine and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmightie God trusting to obtaine eternall salvation through thalone merritts of Jesus Christ my most blessed saviour & Redeemer and my bodie to the Earth there to remaine and ? till the Day of Resurrection and to be decently buried at the charges ....and for the worldly estate God of his ....I give & bequeath as followeth
Item I give and bequeath to unto my daughter in Law Ann the wife of my sonn John Reeve deceased one moitie of the masion house wherein I now live and one moitie of the Barne and outhousing thereunto bylonging for and during the terme of her naturall life and after the decease of my said daughter in law I give and bequeath the said mansion house & outhousing to John Reeve my grandchild and heires for ever
Item I give & bequeath more unto my said daughter in law all my freehold lands belonging to my said messuage lying & eing in Willingale Doe for and during the terme of her naturall life and after her decease I give and bequeath the said freehold land unto my grandchild John Reeve and his heires for ever
Item my mind and will is that my said daughter in law shall have libertie to have & take all necessary ? from and under the said frehold lands to bee spent uponthe premisses ?
Item I give & bequeath unto John Reeve my grandchild the other moitie of my mansion house and the moitie of all my outhousing thereunto belonging and all my freehold land and coppie hold land lying in Willingale Spaine to be and remaine to the said John my Grandchild and his heires for ever
Item I give and bequeath more unto my said Grandchild John Reeve my Dresse cubboard standing in my parlour and the feather bead whereon I lie with the furniture thereunto belonging
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchild Frances Reeve my best coerlett lying in the prlr?
Item all the rest of my household stuffe whatsoever which is not my daughter in lawes I give and bequeath unto my three grandchildren John Reeve Edward Reeve & Frances Reeve to be equally divided amongst them shre & shre like
Item I give & bequeath unto my grandchild Edward Reeve the summe of fortie pounds of lawful money to be paid unto him by my executor when he shall attaine the age of one & twentie yeares and for want of payment it may & shall be lawful ? for my said Grandchild to enter upon my said messiage & tennement with the lands & appertenances thereunto belonging and the same to have hold & enjoy till hee bee fully satisfied
It. I ive & bequeath unto my grandchild Frances Reeve the sume of fortie pounds of good & lawfull money to be paid unto her when shee shall attaine to the age of one & twentie yeares and for want of payment it may & shalbe lawfull to & for my said grandchild Frances to enter upon my said messuage & tennement with the lands & appurtenances thereunto belonging and the same to have hold & enjoy till she be fully satisfied
Item I give & bequeath unto my Brother William Reeve the summe of twentie shillings yearely & every yeare during his naturall life & to be paid unto him by my executor quarterly that is to say five shillings every quarter .. my mind & will is that my Brother William shall have his lodging in my house and a Bedd to lye on & whenvr? he come to the farm? during the terme of his naturall life
It. I give unto my son in law Guss? Pepper one shilling
Item All the rest of my mooveable goods not before bequeathed I give & bequeath unto my grandchild John Reeve paying my debts & discharging my legacies And I ordeine & make the said John Reeve my grandchild sole executor of this my last will & Testamet
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the day & yeare above written
