Know all men by these presents that we John Reeve aged eleven years and upwards Mary Reeve aged about ten years and Anne Reeve aged eight years ye nrall and lawfull children of Nathaniel Reeve late Rector of Twinstead in ye county of Essex but dying a widower at Ingatestone in ye said county by reason of such our minorities being incapable of doing any thing in our own names without a Guardian do therefore elect and choose John Edward Cooke our grandfather to be our Guardian and courator during our minorities to all intents and purposes in law whatsoever and do desire Mr Edward Cooke and Thomas Willymelt notary publics two of ye surrogators generall of ye Arches Court of Canterbury to be our Protore? or agents or either of them for us and in our names to appear before any Ecclesiasticall judge whatsoever having jurisdiction herein and desire and procure ye said John Ewer our Grandfather to be admitted and assigned our guardian and curator during our minorities to ye and to renounce our right and interest in and to ye Letters of Administrator of our said fathers estate and to all other intents and purposes whatsoever and wee do consent that the said Letters of Administration be committed and granted to Edmond Jones of Fryering? in Essex creditor by Bond of the said deceased or James Reeve Rector of Chignell St James in the said County our cousin ? hereby ratifying and confirming whatsoever shall be done in pursuance hereof Given under our hands and seals this fifth day of May in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ninty nine
