Transcript

In the Name of God Amen the two and twentieth of September in the year of our Lord God 1712 I Jonathan Reeve of Bocking in the County of Essex Gent being very sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling unto mind the mortallity of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye doe make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my Body I commend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christianlike and decent manner at the discretion of my executrix and executor nothing doubting but at the generall Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife and Jonathan Reeve my son joyntly Barretts commonly called high Garret with the appurtenances with all the stock thereunto belonging and whereas John Reeve my second son hath a moiety in it he is to resign his moiety with all his right and title to it And also I give my lands and tenement called the Wilde to Elizabeth my wife and to Jonathan my son except two feilds which will be disposed of afterwards upon condition they pray to Elizabeth my daughter two hundred and fifty pounds but after the death of Elizabeth my wife to my son Jonathan and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to John Reeve my second son all the lands messuages and tenements called the stuh? and Moses with two other tenements now in the occupation of William Sinee? and Jonathan Taylor to him and his heirs for ever upon condition he renounce all right and title to Barrets commonly called high Garrett or else I give these lands and tenements to Elizabeth my wife and to Jonathan Reeve my son
Item I give and bequeath to Benjamin Reeve my third son a feild called Fletchers and long Croft and ?ross Croft adjoyning which are the two fields before excepted And also a field and tenement lately Newmans and also a cottage and yard now in the occupation of Samuel Green to him and his heirs for ever
Item I give and bequeath to Joseph Reeve my fourth son the field and tenement called Crouts? now in the occupation John Saffield and the wilds lately John John Bakers and also the two lands and tenements called farthing and Levells which is upon a mortgage to him and his heirs for ever
Item I give and bequeath to James Reeve my fifth son the lands and tenements called Harveys with the appurtenances to him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Reeve my daughter two hundred and fifty pounds before mentioned one hundred pounds to be paid one year next after my decease the other hundred and fifty pounds to be paid two years next after my Decease
Lastly I give and bequeath all my debts due to me to Elizabeth my wife and Jonathan Reeve my son both which I make nominate and appoint executrix and executor to this my last Will and Testament upon condition they pay all my debts legacies and funeral charges revoking all wills and testaments by me heretofore made confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the day and year above written
