In the name of God Amen I Benjamin Reeve of High Garrett in Bocking in the County of Essex yeom being weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same doe make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following
First and principally I comitt my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body to the Earth to be decently Buryed by my executor hereafter named and as to my worldly estate which It hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give devise and dispose thereof as followeth (vizt)
I give and devise unto Jonathan Reeve my Brother and his heires and assigns for ever all that my Burneance? field or peece or parcell of arrable land called or known by the name of Hewmans situate lying and being att High garrett end in Bocking aforesd near the Road there leading towards Gosfield and conteyne together by estimacon two acres and a half more or less as the same is now in the tenure or occupation of William Hall or his assignes
Item I give and devise unto Elizabeth Reeve my sister the now wife of John Reeve of Boones in Bocking aforesd all that my messuage or tenement with the outhouses yards gardens and appertences thereunto belonging situate lyeing and being in Bocking aforesd att or near a palce called High Garrett and aforesd and near the Road thre leading towards Halsted and now in the tenure or occupacon of the sd William Hall or his assignes to have and to hold the sd messuage or tenement and prmises with the appertences unto the sd Elizabeth Reeve my sister and her heires and assigns for ever
Itm I give and devise unto John Reeve my Brother All that my messuage or tenement with the houses outhouses yards gardens orchards and appertennces thereunto belonging situate lyeing and being in Bocking aforesd att or near a place there called High Garrett End aforesd and next the Road there leading towards Gosfield and now in the tenure or occupacon of Robert Arthur or his assigns to have and to hold these messuage or tenement and prmises with the appertences unto the sd John Reeve (late of Fenns) my said Brother and his heires and assigns for ever
Item I give and devise unto Joseph Reeve my Brother all that my messuage or tenement with the houses outhouses yards gardens and appertences thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Bocking aforesd next the Road there leading towards Halsted and now in the tenure or occupacon of Samuel Greene or his assignes to have and to hold these messuages or tenement and prmises last menconed with the appertennces unto the sd John Reeve my said Brother and his heires and assignes for ever
Itm I will that the sd John Reeve (late of Fenns) my said Brother his executors or Administrators shall and doe within half a year next after the decease of my uncle John Reeve (who is now tenant for life) make sale of all that my messuage or farme called Fletchers or otherwise with the houses outhouses Buildings barnes stables and severall peeces or parcells of land meadows and pastur Grounds to the same belonging with their appertenances as the same are situate lyeing and being att High Garrett and aforesd in the parish of Bocking aforesd as the same were heretofore in the tenure or occupacon of John Bixby or his assignes and now in the tenure or occupacon of John Hornes? or his assignes which said messuages lands and prmises were formerly settled upon me and my heires from and after the death and decease of the sd John Reeve my said uncle And alsoe all and every other my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments in Bocking aforesd or elsewhere in the sd County of Essex as shall come to and from and after the death and decease of the sd John Reeve my said uncle as aforesaid or otherwise housoever And doe hereby give full power and authority to the sd John Reeve my said Brother his exeutors or Administrators to sell all and every the sd messuages lands tenements hereditaments and prmises as aforesd for the best price that can or may be gotten for the same and I will that all the moneys raised bby such sale together with the rents and proffitts of the sd prmises untill such sale (after all reasonable charges being first deducted) shall be by the sd John Reeve my Brother his Executors or Administrators equally divided betweene my said three Brothers and sister namely the sd Jonathan Reeve Elizabeth Reeve (the wife of the said John Reeve of Boones) the sd John Reeve of Fenns and Joseph Reeve share and share alike or soe many of them as shall be liveing att the time of my said uncles decease and my mind and will further is that if in case there shall be a necessity for my said Brother Jonathan Reeve (or if required) to joyne in such sale or conveyances to be made as aforesd for the perfecting the title and he refuses soe to doe then I will that the sd Jonathan Reeve my said Brother shall not reap any benefitt by this my will but that all and every such estate or estates as is herein before devised to him may be sold as aforesd and equally divided betweene the rest of my said Brothers and sister above named as aforesd (anything herein conteyned to the contrary in anywise notwithstanding) Lastly all the rest of my reall and personall estate whatsoever and wheresoever after my debts and funerall charges being first paid and satisfyed as aforesd I give and bequeath unto the sd John Reeve late of Fenns my said Brother and his heires and assigns for ever and doe hereby make nominate constitute and appoint the sd John Reeve late of Fenns my said Brother sole executor of this my last will and testament revokeing all former wills by and heretofore made declareing this onely to be my last Inwitness whereof to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper to the first of them I have subscribed my name to the second and last my name and seale the thirteenth day of January Anno m 1720/21
