In the Name of God Amen I Mary Ryves of Fifhead Nevil in the County of Dorset Widow and Relict of John Ryves Esqr deceased being mindfull of my mortality do make this my last Will and Testament as followethFirst I will that my Body be decently buried in the parish Church of Fifhead Nevil by the direction of my executors herein after mentioned And I also will that my funeral expences do not exceed the sum of twenty pounds. I will that all such debts as I owe shall be truly paid. I give to the poor of the parish of Fifhead Nevil aforesaid the sum of three pounds to be paid unto the Minister of the said parish within one month after my decease to be by him distributed amongst the said poor people. I give to my Grandaughter Mary Guy the sum of one hundred pounds and my wedding Ring. I give unto my grandson William Salkeld all my household stuff and goods of whatsoever kind they be whether linnen woollen pewter or brass and I do also give him the sum of ten pounds to buy him mourning. I also give unto my grandson Robert Salkeld the sum of ten pounds to buy him mourning. I also give unto my grandson Charles Salkeld the sum of ten pounds to buy him mourning And all the rest and residue of my personal estate (after all my debts and legacies paid) I give and devise the same unto my Grandaughter Elizabeth Salkeld and Ann Salkeld and I do also Appoint them joynt executrixes of this my last Will and testament And I do hereby revoke and make void all other wills by me heretofore made and published.
In witness whereof to this my last Will and Testament I have put my hand and seal this twentieth day of April in the eleventh year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King George the second and in the year of Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty eight.

This Will was proved at London the eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty eight before the Right Worshipfull John Bettesworth Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of Elizabeth Salkeld and Ann Salkeld spinsters the Executrixes named in the said will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods chattels and credits of the said deceased, being first sworn by comission duly to Administer.
