This Indenture made the first Day of March In the Twentieth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Grate Britain France & King defender of the faith &c Anno Domine one Thousand seven hundred and forty six Between Benjamin Reeves of Prince George County George Reives of Brunswick County Thomas Jeffris of Brunswick County of the one part and Timothy Rives of Brunsw. County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Benjamin Rives George Rieves Thomas Jefferis for divers good causes and consideration them hereunto moving but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of forty pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand well and truly paid Before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the sd Benjamin Rives George Rives and Thomas Jeffries Doth here by acknowledge and them selves to be there with satisfied contented and paid and thereof & therefrom Doth acquit Release and Discharge the sd Timothy Rives his heirs Exors and admors &c and hath & by these presents doth for them selves their heirs exors and admors Grant Bargain sell demise release and forever quit claim and confirm unto the said Timothy Rives and his heirs and assigns forever two certain tracts or parcels of land situate lying and being in the Parrish of st Andrew & County of Brunswick on the south side of Maherin River and containing by estimation one tract four hundred acres & the other parcel fifty acres more or less and Bounded as followeth (to wit) The one parcill or tract) Beginning at a spanish oak on the east side of the Grate swamp thence five degres east sixty poles to a red oak thence south twenty five degrees east seventy two poles to a red oak thence south sixty five degrees east two hundred and sixty poles to a pine thence North twenty five degrees east one hundred and two poles to a white oak then north twenty five degrees west one hundred and forty four poles to a red oak then north eighty five west one hundred and fifty eight pole to a hickory then north one hundred and sixty six pole to a red oak then west one hundred pole to a white oak and south one hundred and sixty six pole to the Begining and the other parcil - Being part or parciel of a tract of land surveyd by William Rieves asd? of Prince George County given by Will by the sd William Rieves decd? to Thomas Jeffries and is the upper end of the sd land and Begining at the mouth of the Branch Between where George Rieves did live and Thomas Jeffries plantation at a white oak and long along of marked trees made by George Rives and Thomas Jeffries up the sd Branch Eastardly to a gum and then a near west course to a live oak and a north east course to a white oak and then a east course to a white oak and then north east course to the out side line of the land To have and to hold the said land and premises herein & hereby or on ent? or mentioned or Intended to be herein and hereby granted Bargained & sold to geather with all priveliges Rents Ishews profits and appurtenances their unto Belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the sd Timothy Rives His heirs and assigns for ever so that neither the sd Benjamin Reives George Rives and Thomas Jeffries their heirs exors or admors or any other person or persons what so ever shall at any time hereafter have any manner of right title interest property claim or demand of in or unto the aforesd four hundred acres of land and the aforesd parcel or fifty acres of land or any part or parcel thereof But that the same with all and singular the appurtenances there unto Belonging and shall be & for ever hereafter enure? to the only sole proer use and behoof of him the sd Timothy Reeves his heirs and assigns for ever and further more the sd Benjamin Rieves George Reives Thomas Jeffires for them selves their heirs exors and admors doth by these presents promise covenant and agree to and with the sd Timothy Rieves that they the sd Benjamin Rieves George Rieves & Thomas Jeffires and their heirs &c shall and will for ever defend this present bargain & sale unto the sd Timothy Rieves his heirs and assigns for ever By a general warrant against all and all manner of persons whatsoever In witness whereof we the said Benjamin Rieves George Reeves Thoams Jeffires hath hereunto set our hands and seals the Day and date first above written

Memorandum That on the first Day of march in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand seven hundred & forty six full and peacable livery and seizen of the land with in mentioned with the appurtenances was given & deliver'd by the within mentioned Benjamin Reives George Rieves and Thomas Jeffires unto the therein Named Timothy Reives according to dew form of Law

This Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of seasin were proved by the oaths of Burrell Brown Henry Cook and William Womack three of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded and Sarah the wife of George Reives one of the parties personally appeared in Court and being first privately examined as the law directs freely and voluntarily relinquished her right of dower in the land & premises within mentioned
