Transcription

To all People to whom this present writing shall come I Joseph Reeves of the County of Essex in the Colony of Virginia and Greeting Know ye that I the said Joseph Reeves as will in Consideration of the Love and affection which I have and do bear unto my well beloved son in Law James Dix as for divers other good Causes and Considerations me hereunto moving have given and granted and by these presents do fully clearly and absolutely give grant and Confirm unto the said James Dix his Heirs and assigns for ever fifty acres of land let the same be more or less being part of the Land Whereon I now live and bounded as followeth Beginning at a Corner pine Standing in the head Line, thence several Courses to a Branch up &c Branch to two Corner Saplings thence up the Valley by a Holly Bush and four Persimmon trees all mark’d to &c North East line thence to ye Begining with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of me the said Joseph Reeves of in and to the premises aforesaid and every part & parcel thereof and the reversion and reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents & profits thereof and of Every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the Premises aforesaid with the appurtenances unto the said James Dix his Heirs and assigns for ever to the only use and behoof of him the said James Dix his Heirs and assigns forever and to no otherwise Intent or Purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred fifty two.

Joseph Reeves acknowledged this Deed of Gift Indented to James Dix to be his Act & Deed which is thereupon ordered to be recorded & is truly recorded.
