Transcript

I the name of God Amen the Twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord (1753) I Walter Reeve in the Township of Northampton and County of Burlington yeomen, Being in perfect mind and memory as also in good Health thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that Gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent Christian Brial at the Discretion of my Executors nothing Doubting but at the Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this Life I Give Dimise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form,
Item I Give unto my son Samuel Reeve his heirs and Assigns the plantatio whereon I now live joyning upon William Hains in the forst of Ancomes with fifteen acres of a landing meadow bought of James Lippincot on the North Branch of Ancohes Creek
Item I give unto my two sons Micage and Jonathan Reeve two hundred acres of land in Salem County and Township of Marrington to them their exrs assigns the which land my Brother Caleb purchased of George Webb being a part of the same tract with all my Right & TItle thereto and if are a one of the Brothers here named or more of them dies intested the surviving Brother shall enjoyt.
Item I Give unto my four sons Samuel Micage Jonathan and Barzila the Reversion of the Property Right Bought of John Blumount
Item with one piece of Cedar Swamp and Pine Land Bought of Samuel Galdly to them their hers and assigns
Item I give all my Goods and Living Chreaters now on the place to Samuel and Elizabeth to be Divided by the indifferent men in the station she now is only Samuel paying my funeral charges
Item I give unto my son Jonathan Sixty pound out of the chash bonds
Item I give under my Daughter Ruth Rebeckah Ann and Sarah Twenty pounds to each of them out of the Cash Bonds to be received when they come of age my Daughter Ann and Sarah Parts to be kept at Interest
Item If there should be any more money remains after my Debts, paid to be equally divided amongs all my sons and Daughters
Item I give to my executors the plantation that was my fathers lying on the north side the north Branch of Ancokes to take care the Timber be not cut to wast till the Exrs come of age
Item I Give unto my son Walters three sons there exrs and assigns two hundred acres propperiety right bought of John Allen and
Lastly I do hereby nominate and ordain and make my friend Thomas Pancoast with my sons Micage Reeve and Saml Reeves Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby Disannul and make void all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and Declared, and Do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written

Endorsed Samuel Clark and Richard Buckston two of the Witnesses to the within will being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God did depose that they were present and saw Walter Reeve the testator in the within Will named sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and declare the within Instrument to be his Last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof the said was of sound and Disposing mind and memory as far as these Deponents know and as they verily Believe and that Thomas McLure the other subscribing evidence was present at the same time and signed his name as a witness to the said Will together with them in presence of the said Testator

Be it Remembered that the Last Will and Testament of Walter Reeve being duly proved as above said Probate and Letters Testamentary were Granted by His Excellency Jonathan Belcher Esqr Governor of the Province of New Jersey &c unto Micajah Reeve and Samuel Reeve executors in the said will named they being duly sworn well and truly perform the said Will to exhibit a true and perfect inventory and render a just account when thereunto lawfully required Given under the Prerogative Seal of the Said Province at Burlington the 23d day of May Anno Domini 1754
