This Indenture made the Fifth Day of August Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred and fifty seven Between Thomas Atkinson Senr of Bridgetown in the County of Burlington and province of New Jersey of the one part and Jonathan Reeves of the County of Burlington aforesaid of the other part Whereas By Virtue of one Indenture Duly Executed bearing Date the fifth Day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty made Between Philo Leeds Senr by the name of Philo Leed of the Township of Northampton or the County of Burlington and province of West New Jersey yeoman of the one part and Thomas Atkinson by the name of Thomas Atkinson of the same place yeoman of the other part the said Thomas Atkinson Senr became seized in fee simple of and in messuage tenement and lott of land hereafter mentioned and Whereas the said Thomas Atkinson Senr hand? by a certain obligation or writing obligatory under his hand and seal bearing even date with this present Indenture stands bound unto the said Jonathan Reeves in the sum of one hundred and thirty one pounds four shillings and four pence proclamation money Conditioned for the payment of sixty five pounds twelve shillings and two pence life money on the fifth day of August next Ensuing in one intire payment Together with lawfull interest for the same as by the said recited obligation & condition thereof being therunto had may more at large appear. Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Thomas Atkinson Senr for and in consideration of the aforesaid Debt or sum of sixty five pounds twelve shillings and two pence and for the Better Securing the payment with its Interest unto the said Jonathan Reeves his executors admrs or assigns in Discharge of the said recited obligation and for and in consideration of the further sum of five shillings unto the said Thomas Atkinson by the said Jonathan Reeves in hand paid which said sum of two shillings is hereby acknowledge Hath Granted Bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant bargain sell alien enfeofe release convey and confirm unto the said Jonathan Reeves and to his heirs and assigns a certain messuage or dwelling house and lott of land situate lying and being on the East side of high street and on the North Side of New Street in Bridge Town aforesaid bounded as follow Viz Beginning at a stone on the east side of the said high street corner to Thomas Kimble's land and extends thence unto the said Street South Eighty seven Degrees west fifty links thence along the middle of the said Street South five Degrees west one chain to a post, thence along in New Street South EIghty nine degrees east three chains and nineteen links to a fork thence by land of Daniel Hough North seven Degrees east one chain and Twenty three links to Thomas Kimble thence by the same south eighty seven Degrees west two chains and seventy five links to the place of beginning containing one rood and sixteen square be the same more or less Together also with all and singular the house out houses messuages buildings improvements way waters water courses rights liberties priviledges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said house and lot belonging or in any wise appertaining or accepted reputed deemed or taken, as part parcell or member thereof or any part or parcell thereof and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profitts of all and singular the premises To Have and To Hold the said described house and lott and all and singular other the hereditaments and premises hereby Granted Enfeoffed & confirmed or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Jonathan Reeves his heirs and assigns To the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Jonathan Reeves his heirs and assigns forever Provided always nevertheless that if the said Thomas Atkinson his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any of them shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Jonathan Reeves his executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid debt or sum of sixty five pounds twelve shillings and two pence on the day and time herein before mentioned and appointed for payment thereof Together with lawfull interests for the same according to the condition of the said recited obligation without fraud a further delay and without any delactation? or abatement to be made for or in respect of any taxes charges or assessments whatsoever that then and from thenceforth as well this present Indenture and the estate hereby granted as the said recited obligation shall cease determine and become absolutely void forever anything herein before contained to the contrary in anywise notwithstanding Bit it default? shall happen to be made of or in payment of the aforesaid sum of sixty five pounds twelve shillingsand two pence with it's interest at such time and in such manner and form as the same is herein before mentioned and expressed for payment thereof that then and from thenceforth always after it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Jonathan Reeves his heirs or assigns or any of them into and upon the said described house and lott of land and all and singular other the hereditament and premises hereby granted or mentioned to be granted with the appurtenances to enter and the same from henceforth peaceably and quietly to have hold occupy possess and enjoy and the rents issues and profits thereof to receive and take with out the let suit trouble or molestation of him the said Thomas Atkinson his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hand and seals hereunto Dated the Day and year first above written. Then personally came and appeared before Charles Read Esqr one of the masters of the Court of Chancery for the Provinces of New Jersey Charles Read Esqr one of the Masters of the Court of Chancery for he Province of New Jersey Gabriel Blond one of the subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed of Feofment and being duly sworn on the holy Evangelist of almighty God Did Depose that he saw Thomas Atkinson the Grantor within mentioned by his mark sign seal and as his act and Deed Deliver the same to the uses within mentioned Gab Blond Gurat Coram me Cha Read
