Transcription

THIS INDENTURE made this Seventeenth Day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty Nine BETWEEN Henry Reeves of the County of Spotsylvania of the one part and Greensbye Waggoner of the County of Caroline of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Henry Reeves for and in Consisderation of the sum of Twenty Six pounds Ten shillings Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Greensby Waggoner before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and thereof and of every part thereof doth hereby Acquit and Discharge him the said Greensby Waggoner his Heirs Executors & Administrators and every of them by these presents HATH given granted, Bargained sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth give, Grant, Bargain, Sell, Enfeoffe and Confirm unto him the said Greensby Waggoner and to his heirs and assigns forever all the Estate Right, Title, Interest Claims and Demand ~~~~~~ whatsoever which now is or shall ever hereafter become or grow due to him the said Henry Reeves his heirs Executors or Adminrs of in & to a Certain Divided or Parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in the County of Essex and Parish of South farnham and Containing One hundred Acres be the same more or less it being all that Land that was purchased by George Reeves late of the County of Essex Deceased of Andrew Dyer as by the said Dyers Deed to the said George Reeves Bearing date the Eighteen Day of May in the year One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six may fully appear and by the Last Will and Testament of the said George Reeves Dec.d Bequeathed to the said Henry Reeves, the said Land Bounded as followeth. BEGINNING (sic) at a Red Oak Corner of the Land formerly Thomas Hucklescots in the line Called Henry Auberrys Line Running thence South by West One hundred fifty three poles by the said Hucklescotts Line to a Red Oak thence West by North One hundred and five poles to a White Oak thence North by East One hundred fifty three poles to the Land of the said Auberrys and thence along his Line to the Beginning together with all Houses Buildings, Orchards, Meadows, pastures, ways Water & Water Courses Woods and Underwoods, and all other the Profits Commodities and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or appertaining and the Reversion & Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Land and Premisses (sic) and all and Singular the Appurtenances hereby or Intended to be given Granted Bargained sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed unto him the said Greensby Waggoner to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Greensby Waggoner his heirs and assigns forever Sufficiently saved kept harmless and Indemnified of & from all other Gifts, Grants, Bargains, Sales, Leases, Jointures, Dowers, Wills, Entails, Debts Suits Judgments Executions or any other Incumbrances whatsoever had made Committed done or Suffered by him the Henry Reeves or by any other person or persons Whatsoever to be ~~~ holden of our Sovereign Lord the King his heirs and Successors by the Quit rents Accustomed and do warrant the same from me the said Henry Reeves, my Heirs Executors and Administrators or from any other person whatsoever Claiming or to Claime any part or parcel of the above Granted Premisses,(sic) and for the further and more better assuring and Suremaking the title thereof the said Henry Reeves doth Oblidge (sic) himself his Heirs Executors & Admnistrators to make to Acknowledged or Cause to be made done and Acknowledged all such Writings Deeds or Conveyances whatsoever as by him the said Greensby Waggoner his heirs or Assigns or by his or their Counsel Learned in the Law shall be Reasonably devised Tendered or Required IN WITNESS whereof the parties to these presents have set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written

MEMORANDUM that on the Sixteenth Day of November 1759 possession and Seizen of the Lands and premisses (sic) within mentioned was given and Delivered by the within name Henry Reeves by Turf and Twig parcel thereof in Lieu of the whole to within mentioned Greensby Waggoner according to the True Intent and meaning of the within written Deed. In presence of us the Subscribers
