Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Reeve of the Hamlet of Moulsham in the parish of Chelmsford in the County of Essex Malster being infirm but of sound mind and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following, I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, Hoping through the Merits and intercession of my blessed saviour Jesus Christ to obtain absolute pardon for all my sins
I give to my son Joseph Reeve the younger, to my daughter Mary the wife of James Harrod to my Daughter Love the wife of Abraham Saward and to my Daughter Martha the wife of Isaac White and to each of them respectively one shilling a peice they having been respectively sufficiently advanced by and in my life
I give to my so John Reeve the sum of forty pounds to be paid him at his age of twenty one years
Also I give to my daughters Ann and Sarah the sum of Thirty pounds a peice to be paid them respectively at their respective days of marriage or ages of twenty one years which shall first happen, and my will is and I hereby direct that in case my executrix shall receive any interest or profit from the said last mentioned legacyes of forty pounds thirty pounds and thirty pounds until the same shall become payable to my said son John and my daughters Ann and Sarah that such interest or profit shall be applyed by my said executrix in the maintenance and for the benefit of him or her to whom such legacy or legacyes shall belong
All the rest residue and remainder of my ready money securityes for money book debts stock in trade goods chattels cattle corn farming utensils household goods linnen and furniture and all other my personal estate and effects of every kind whatsoever (after payment of my just debts funeral charges elgacyes aforesaid and probate of this my will) I give and bequeath the same to my loving wife Love and I give and devise to the said Love my wife all my messuages lands tenements hereditaments and real estate whatsoever to hold the same to her my said wife her heirs nad assigns forever. I appoint my said wife sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made and declaring this alone to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of May one thousand seven hundred and sixty four

Testor died in the Parish within mentioned the 5th Inst.

This will was proved on the twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five before the Reverend John Tindal Clerk Batchelor of laws surrogate &c by the oath of Love Reeve widow the Relict of the deceased and sole executrix to whom Admicon of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said decd was granted and committed she being first sworn duly to Administer
