Transcript

In the Name of God, Amen. I William Reeve of the Parish of Bulmer in the County of Essex, considering the Uncertainty of this mortal Life, and being of sound Mind, Memory and Understanding, Do therefore make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I give and devise to my Son Edmund Reeve his Heirs & Assigns the cottage he now lives in Situate in Bulmer aforesaid with the Ground thereunto belonging. I give and bequeath to my Son William Reeve the sum of twenty Pounds to be paid him at the Rate of twenty shillings a Year until he receives the whole sum. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Howard the sum of twenty Pounds to be paid her at the Rate of twenty shillings a year until she receive the whole said sum. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susanna Reeve the sum of twenty Pounds to be paid her at twenty shillings a Year until she receive the said whole sum I give and devise to my Grandson John Hale his heirs and assigns the two cottages with the land thereunto belonging situate in Bulmer aforesaid and occupied by Richard Bareing and Ambrose Rushing. And lastly I give and bequeath all my Personal Estate as growth of Woods, Stock, Goods and Chattles of whatever nature or kind to my son in law John Hale: whom I do hereby appoint executor and his wife Sarah Hale Executrix of this my last Will and Testament they observing to pay the above legacies and to take care of and maintain my said wife as they have promised so to do. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this tenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and sixty four.

Willm Reeve died June 14 1766
Sarah Hale died last November

This will was proved on the fifth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty six before the reverend Alexander Cornwall Clerk Surrogate &c by the oath of John Hale the surviving executor to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods chattels and credits of the deceased was granted and committed on the Ninth day of August aforesaid he being first Sworn duly to Admr.
