Transcript

Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Reeves of Medford in the County of Middlesex Heelmaker In consideration of Eighty Seven pounds thirteen shillings and four pence lawful money paid me by John Reeves of Salem in the County of Essex Wheelwright the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby give grant sell and convey unto the said John Reeves and to his heirs a piece of land in said Salem with part of a Dwelling house thereon bounded thus beginning at a mark in said House which is the Northwest corner of No 2 in the Division of the Estate of my Father Cockerel Reeves decd the line runs westerly by the main street thirty nine feet two inches to said John's own land thence southeasterly by said John's land nine rods and fourteen links to Palmer's land thence by said Palmers land the line runs easterly fifty feel four inches and a half inch to number two aforesaid thence northerly or northwesterly straight through the house to the mark on the northern side of the house the Bound first mentioned with the appurtenances the premises containing No. 3 in the first Division & No 3 & No 9 in the second Division ( or part assigneed to the widow for her Dower) of the estate of my said Father To have and to hold the same to the said John Reeves and to his heirs to his and their use & behoof forever and I do covenant with the said John and his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises that they are free of all incumbrances that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said John Reeves in manner aforesaid and that I will warrant and defend the same to the said John Reeves and his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of any persons In witness whereof I hereto set my hand and seal the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two.
