Narrative
Joseph Perkins was granted administration of the estate of John Reeves, Housewright, of Salem County, on 2 Apr 1800. In an 1802 deed, he is identified as a grandson of Cockeril Reeves and the same John who had received some of the estate land from his uncles Jacob & Samuel Reeves in 1772. In 1773, he had sold some of this land in a deed which again identified him as a grandson of Cockeril Reeves. It also states that Benjamin, Jacob, and Samuel were his uncles. This appears to leave only William, Nathaniel, or John as candidates for his father. John's wife Sarah signed the deed. A Sarah Felt and a John Reeves junr. witnessed the deed. This therefore appears to be the John Reeves who married Sarah Felt in 1771.Research Notes
This John may be related to John Felt Reeves who was born in Salem around 1799. There was another younger John Reeves who died around 1805 who's probate records identify a son John born around 1799. It's possible the younger John Reeves is a son to this John.Sources
