Narrative

Children of Nathaniel Reeves and Mercy Dudley:
  1. Nathaniel Reeves

In a 1758 Deed from Essex County, "Nathaniel Reeves of Salem in the County of Essex Housewright with the Consent of Mercy my wife" deeded land to Francis Cabot that was from the real estate "of my late Father Cockeril Reeves Deceased". It also mentions his brother Jacob Reeves. Nathaniel's wife is later named Marcy Reeves (DB 104, p258). Nathaniel and Marcy were still living in Salem in 1770 according to a later deed (DB 128, p69). In another deed from that same year, a Nathaniel Reeves Jr. witnessed the deed along with a John Reeves "juyner." (DB 122, p93) It would appear therefore that Nathaniel had at least one child, a son Nathaniel. In another deed to James Ford, Nathaniel Reeves Jr. and John Reeves witnessed the deed as well. It's possible Nathaniel could have been the father of John Reeves, Housewright, who is known to have been a grandson of Cockerill.
