The following is a verbatim transcript from the York County Court Minutes.

July Court 1788

Solomon Williams
vs.
Malachi Reeves

Detinue in four Suits for five Negroes. James Powell & Henry Creswell enters themselves Security for Costs in said four Suits the Plaintiff living out of this State.

Court adjourned for an Hour.

Met according to adjournment

Comment: It appears from a cursory review of deed records that Solomon Williams was in Mecklenburg County, NC that before 1772 included what became York County, SC. See 1789 Minutes for resolution of the case.
