State of N. Carolina No. 2250
To all to whom these presents Shall Come Greeting Know Ye that we for & in Consideration of the sum of Ten Pound for every hundred acres hereby Granted paid into our Treasury byBenjamin Reeves have Given & Granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the Said BenjaminReeves a Tract of Land Containing 100 acres Lying & being in our County of Rowan on the Mountain fork of Bever Dam Creek Beginning at a Sweet Gum & persimmon Bush Standing on the Bank of Said fork & Runing thence North forty chs to a hicory then west Twenty five chs to a black Oak Sapling then South forty chs to a pin & Rock then East to the Beginning As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear Together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the Said land belonging or appertaining to Hold to the Said Benjamin Reeves his heirs & Assigns forever Yielding & paying to us Such Sums of mony Yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time to time (sic) may Direct Provided Always That the said Benjamin Reeves Shall cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of our Said County of Rowan within the time Limited by Law other wise the Same Shall be Void & of no Effect In Testimony whereof we have Caused these our letters to be made patent & our Grate Seal to be here unto affixed Witness Richard Dobbs Spaight Esqr &c at Newbern the 27 Day of November in the 18th Year of our Independence & in the Year of our Lord 1793
