Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I John Reeve of Braintree in the County of Essex victualler being weak and infirm in Body but of sound mind memory and understanding Do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I give and bequeath unto Mary my wife during the term of her life all and every my household goods chattels and ready money debts and securities for money also all my wearing apparel likewise all other my effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever that I shall he possessed of or intitled to at the time of my decease she was my said wife paying out of the same all my just debts and funeral charges And from and after the decease of my said wife Mary Reeve I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Wood my Clock and my jack and one large silver spoon which are now standing remaining and being in and about the messuage or Tenement wherein I lately dwelt situate and being in Rayne Road in Bocking in the said County of Essex Also I give and beqeuath unto my Daughter Sarah Rebecca Reeve after the decease of my said wife All and every other of and the rest and residue of my Goods chattels and household furniture of all kind and sort that are now standing remaining and being in about and belonging and used in the said messuage or tenement wherein I lately dwelt situate in Bocking aforesaid to and for the sole use and benefit of her my said Daughter Sarah Rebecca Reeve and as to all the rest and residue of my Goods chattels ready money and all other my effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of any kind or nature soever I dispose of as follows after the death of my said wife that is to say, one third part thereof I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary Wood and the other two third parts thereof I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Sarah Rebecca Reeve for her own use and benefit Lastly I appoint my said Daughter Sarah Rebecca Reeve sole executrix of this my will and hereby revoke all other wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this only to be my last In witness whereof I the said John Reeve the testator to this my last will and Testament have set my hand and seal the twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred ninety three.

Proved on the fifth day of March in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and ninety five before the Reverend Christopher Lawson Clk surrogate &c by the oath of Sarah Rebecca Lake formerly Reeve daughter of the deceased and sole executrix, to whom Administration &c was granted she being first sworn duly to Administer

Sarah Rebecca Reeve the sole Executrix within named now the wife of Isaac Lake watermaker of Braintree and daughter of John Reeve within named, was sworn to the truth of this will, and to the true performance thereof and that to the best of her knowledge and belief the amount of the value of the goods chattles and credits of the deceased is under the sum of 100L
