Transcription

Know all men by these presents that I James Reeves of Franklin County and State of Kentucky do hereby appoint Lewis Craig Jr of said county my lawfull attorney for the purpose of managing or transacting my business of every description in the county of Woodford & state of Kentucky particularly authorizing my said attorney to sell & convey all my interest in the tract of land adjoining the Town of Versailles Woodford County which I hold as one of the heirs & representatives of Thomas Reeves deceased also to manage the suit brought by John Obannon in his lifetime & now carried on by his executor or ettle with them by compromise or otherways (sic) hereby empowering my said attorney to act for me in any manner he may think proper in as full and as ample a manner both in law & equity as I could do myself hereby ratifying whatsoever my said attorney may do witness my hand & seal this 10th day of Sept 1813.

September 11th 1813 This power of attorney from James Reeves to Lewis Craig Jr was this day produced before me and proven to be the act and deed of the said Reeves by Geo Blackburn jr & Augustine Abrine two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and the same is duly recorded in my office.
