Be it known that I Samuel Reeves of the County of Rowan and State of North Carolina, for and in consideration of the sum of seventy two pounds, ten shillings to me in hand paid by John C. Reeves of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and signing of these presents the receipt and payment whereof in full I the said Samuel Reeves doth hereby acknowledge have bargained, sold, aliened, Enfeoffed and confirmed, and do hereby bargain, Sell, Enfeoff and confirm unto the said John C. Reeves, all my right, title claim and demand I have or may have in a certain tract or parcel of land which is yet undivided which falls to me by my Deceased Father Samuel Reeves which said tract includes the whole of the estate of the said Samuel Reeves deceased, I the said Samuel Reeves one of the heirs do hereby sell convey and forever confirm all my right, title claims an demand that I have or may have in the lands of my said deceased Father Samuel Reeves which is one fifth part of the whole thereof lying in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of the Beaverdam Creek, bounded by Alexander Dobbins, Thomas Reeves, Thomas G. Polk & Alexander Cowans the whole tract contains (blank in original) acres TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all the right, and title that I have or may have in the said tract or parcel of land, with all woods, ways, waters and water courses, and every other appurtenance thereunto belonging to the said John C. Reeves his heirs and assigns, as fully and firmly as my lawful, right, and claim thereunto will admit of hereby, making ordaining constituting and confirming him the said John C. Reeves in my lieu and Stead on the distribution of the said undivided tract of land, to have hold, possess and enjoy the same, free and clear of all incumbrance whatever to receive and draw for the same with the rights and members and appurtenances thereunto belonging and I for myself my heirs Executors and administrators do hereby covenant and promise to and with the said John C. Reeves his heirs and assigns that I by myself my heirs executors and administrators shall and will forever warrant and defend the claim hereby conveyed from the lawful claim or claims of any and every other person or persons whatever unto the said John C. Reeves, his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Reeves, have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
