South Carolina Fairfield District
Know all men by these presents that I William Trap Merchant of the District and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the full and just sum of one thousand dollars to me in hand paid by John Reaves of the District of Fairfield and State aforesaid have Granted Bargained Sold and released and by these presents do Bargain Sell and release unto the said John Reaves his heirs and assigns forever all that plantation or tract of Land situate on the district of Fairfield on the Branches of Thorntree waters waters of Wateree river containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less being part of a tract of two hundred acres originally granted to Robert McCants and by him conveyed to Thomas Trapp and by him conveyed to me the part hereby intended to be conveyed being the whole of the said tract excepting a part containing fifty acres more or less which is now held by James Harrison and lying on the south East side of a small Branch which was through the South East part of the said tract Bending at __ South West 25.31 62 to a corner thence No W 65 63. 24 to Black Jack thence NE 253162 to a corner thence SE 65 63 24 to the beginning Containing two hundred acres more or less Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise Incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said John Reaves his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and defend all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said John Reaves his heirs and assigns forever and do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to forever warrant and defend unto the said John Reaves and unto his heirs and assigns forever against myself and my heirs and assigns and against every person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. In witness my hand and seal this 27 day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eighteen hundred (sic) and and in the forty second year of Independence of the United States of America.
